Located in Richmond, CA, the Sakai Brothers Rose Company ceased growing roses in 2003. The greenhouses, 40 in all of which half were devoted to roses, are now abandoned. Roses unattended still flourish with some bursting through the roofs appearing more like trees than rose bushes. Soon to be replaced with residential development, the nursery is a reminder of Richmond's agrarian past. In addition to the greenhouses, farm houses, redwood water tanks, and a windmill remain - for now.
